What's New! |
||
We just got a shipment in of the new Spessartite Garnets from Tanzania. The color of these stones is fantastic. A very pure fanta orange with no brown tones. The stones were carefully selected to be the cleanest pieces. Most of the smaller stones will cut AAA with the larger stones showing some small bubbles that should be hidden once cut. Also new, are some blue-green feldspar from Tanzania. These stones are easy to cut, very in-expensive and something different that you don't see all the time. After many months, we have an all new web site with 10 trays of all new stones. I will be adding more stone in the upcoming weeks. If you don't see something ask, as I do have a lot of rough that isn't up on the site yet. We also have a new member to the team... Winston, a 3 lb Yorkshire. He helps out finding stones that fall on the floor, and bringing in the mail. Production of quality rough stones in Africa has been much slower this year. Many of you who attended the Tucson gem shows noticed that there wasn't much new material, and the prices are higher. This is due to the weak US dollar, rising oil costs in Africa, and a general shortage of material. At many of the mine locations the stones are being cut, and never offered as rough. |
